Alex Staniforth is a record-breaking adventurer, ultra-runner, author and the founder of mental health charity, Mind Over Mountains. He survived two disasters on Mount Everest as a teenager and is now an international keynote speaker on resilience and mental wellbeing, and the fastest person to climb all 446 mountains in England & Wales.

Alex Staniforth is a record-breaking adventurer, ultra-runner, author, and charity founder from Chester who is no stranger to overcoming challenges. By the age of nineteen, he had already survived the two biggest disasters in Mount Everest history. Yet his greatest obstacles have been closer to home: living with mental ill health, epilepsy, a stammer, and bullying. Alex is the author of Icefall and Another Peak, and the founder of the mental health charity Mind Over Mountains. His endurance feats have raised over £150,000 for charity, including running and cycling all 446 mountains in England and Wales in just 45 days.

Alex Staniforth is a record-breaking adventurer, ultra-runner, international keynote speaker and charity founder from Chester, who is no stranger to overcoming challenges.
By 19, he had already survived the two most significant disasters in Mount Everest history. Yet his greatest mountains have been closer to home: living with epilepsy, mental ill health, a stammer, and bullying since childhood.
However, Alex has never allowed adversity to define him. He is the fastest person to climb all 446 mountains in England and Wales under human power within just 45 days. His endurance feats have raised over £150,000 for charity, earning a Pride of Britain award and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Chester in 2025 for his contribution to mental health.
He is also the author of Icefall and Another Peak and founder of the mental health charity, Mind Over Mountains.
Introduction Scripts
A strong introduction is essential to a strong start. After a briefing call, Alex will provide a customised introduction for the event host (in Word format) prior to attending.
AV Requirements
Alex uses Powerpoint with photos, videos and minimal text, to bring his expeditions and adventures to life.
Adapting and overcoming is Alex's expertise but he kindly asks clients to provide:
- A PC/laptop with Microsoft Powerpoint 365 in 16:9 (widescreen) format
- Projector with HDMI connector and sound
- Spare remote clicker
- A wireless lapel mic (where necessary)
- A slide and tech check prior to the event
- Coffee (unless after dinner) :)
Alex will bring his Windows laptop with a Logitech remote and his Powerpoint on a USB backup.
Briefing Call
Prior to the event, Alex asks for a briefing call to explore your theme, objectives, logistics, any sensitive topics and what success would look like for your audience. It's more than just 'inspiring' them!
